Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By downloading, installing, or using Uglify (“the App”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the App. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Maksim Horbikau (“we,” “us,” “our”), a sole proprietor registered in Poland. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under EU law.

2. What Uglify does

Uglify is a digital wellness tool that applies progressive sensory degradation to social media apps on your iPhone. The App works by toggling iOS system-level Accessibility settings through iOS Shortcuts automations. The goal is to make compulsive scrolling less appealing. Shields are always dismissible — Uglify never permanently locks you out.

3. System modifications — important disclosure

Uglify modifies system-wide iOS settings. Color Filters override affects all apps. Visual changes are sudden. Volume muting is system-wide and persistent. Shield screens require you to close the app. Emergency exit via triple-click or “Uglify Reset” shortcut.

4. Health and medical disclaimer

Uglify is not a medical device. Photosensitive epilepsy warning: sudden color changes may trigger seizures. Migraine and vestibular disorder warning. Sensory processing sensitivity consideration. You use Uglify at your own risk.

5. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old. Not a parental control tool.

6. Features and subscription

All features currently free. Core features always free. Future paid plans may be introduced with 30 days notice. Subscriptions via Apple. Founding Member Lifetime access may be available.

7. iOS Shortcuts and automations

Automations stored on device by iOS. We cannot create/modify/restore them. Requires iOS 18.2+. “Run Immediately” must remain enabled.

8. Privacy and data

Uses TelemetryDeck, Firebase Crashlytics, RevenueCat, TikTok Business SDK. ATT prompt for TikTok. Full details at uglify.app/privacy.

9. Acceptable use

Do not reverse-engineer, use unlawfully, distribute modified versions, impersonate, or restrict others’ devices.

10. Intellectual property

Uglify and all associated content are intellectual property of Maksim Horbikau. Limited non-exclusive license granted.

11. Limitation of liability

Provided “as is.” Not liable for stuck filters, missed calls due to muting, seizures, data loss, or consequential damages. Total liability capped at amount paid in 12 months or EUR 50. Does not exclude liability for negligence causing injury, fraud, or mandatory consumer protections.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify against claims from Terms violations. Does not apply where prohibited by consumer law.

13. Third-party services

Integrates with Apple, RevenueCat, TelemetryDeck, Firebase Crashlytics, TikTok Business SDK.

14. Changes to these Terms

Material changes: 30 days advance notice, require affirmative acceptance. Non-material changes: no advance notice required.

15. Termination

You may stop by uninstalling. We may terminate for material violations. Surviving sections: Liability, Indemnification, IP.

16. Governing law and disputes

Governed by laws of Poland. Disputes in Warsaw courts. EU consumers retain home court rights. EU ODR platform available.

17. Apple EULA compliance

These Terms supplement Apple’s EULA. Apple is third-party beneficiary.

18. Severability

Unenforceable provisions don’t affect remaining terms.
